Had a nice run lately. Now at 8-7 and plus 1990 on posted soccer plays in the WC so far.

Going with Inglaterra today against the Swedes. Larsson the sole striker for Sweden and I forsee the English defense bottling him up. They won't score a ton of goals but I see this one ending 1-0 or 2-0 in favor of England. Sorry the writeup is short, a little short on time.

The plays: England -1/2 goal plus 160 - 1000 to win 1600

ENG/SWE UNDER 2.5 -180 - 1800 to win 1000

Nice screw job on the Brits and Swedes. Never have I seen such lovely defense in the back from one of the so-called world's powers. Jesus. Oh well, back at it once again.

The salami is offered today and with the four games only having to go over 9, that basically means the average total is 2.25. In my mind, looking at the lines the way they are now, the probability of it falling 10 or higher is much better than 8 or lower... See at least five being scored in the morning games, and I capped the two afternoon games to fall 5 or 6. All things considered, that's 10 or 11 goals. If I had to go over 9.5, I'd pass, but....

The play: ALL GAMES WEDS OVER 9 -118 - 590 to win 500

Also taking a small flyer on the Mexicans plus a half-goal and straight up. My reasoning is that Portugal sounds happy to be through to the next round and I see them pulling up lame while Mexico must get a result to avoid getting into goal-differential if a few scenarios happen in the other game. They should play harder after the disappointing 0-0 draw last time and as much as I hate them, they are the right side this morning.

The plays: Mexico -1/2 -168 - 840 to win 500
Mexico PK and plus 1/2 -114 - 570 to win 500
Mexico plus 295 - 300 to win 885

GL all...

Well poop. Not a good last couple of days. Got one more this afternoon, see if I can't turn it around a little.

Two teams from a decent group both going home. Neither will have their coach after this one. Traditionally, these kind of games turn into track meets. Will take a stab at the OVER in Munich.

The play: CIV/SCG OVER 2.5 plus 115 - 700 to win 805

a shot in the dark here...

CIV/SCG OVER 3.5 plus 322 - 250 to win 805

Now 10-10 and down 420 for the tournament. Not too shabby considering I got absolutely whitewashed with ENG and MEX the last two days. Just gotta stay patient, still a lot of 'futbol' left...

Familiarity will be the theme in the Croatia/Aussie game. Sure, Hiddinck is a great coach and should have the Socceroos ready. They've never gotten to the round of 16 at the WC and I expect the pressure on them to be immense. Meanwhile, most people expected the Croats (myself included) to advance from the group. They have not scored in the first two games but in my mind, that only adds value to their side today. This game woulda been Croatia -120 or so if it were the first game of the group for both sides, so I'll gladly take plus almost 8-to-5 back on the more talented side that should figure out a way to pound in its first goals of the WC today. I see it being either 2-0 or 2-1 in favor of Croatia.

The plays: Croatia -1/2 plus 157 - 1000 to win 1570

I like the Croats here as well and if I don't place any bets on this match, I'll be pulling for you to hit. But stating that all the pressure will be on the Aussies b/c they've never made it to the round of 16 is kinda absurd I think. First off, the Aussies never made it to the round of 16 b/c this is their 2nd time participating in the WC!!! First time was in 1976, which is tooooo many moons ago to have any effect whatsoever on Hiddinck's current team. If anything, I think the pressure is slightly heavier on the Croats as they MUST win in order to advance while the Aussies can play for a draw and advance. Of course this is all assuming that the Japs don't beat Brazil by a large goal differential, something I can't even fathom to imagine.

Nevertheless GL mate. I might put some of my winnings from Italy on the Croats to win.

Hope you didn't Mindware, lol....

Ukraine's first-game loss to Spain was just a momentary blip on the radar. They recovered to truck the Saudis and I forsee the same result today against Tunisia. Sorry I didn't post earlier but this has the makings of 3-1 or so.

The plays: Ukraine -1/2 -155 - 1550 to win 1000
Ukraine -1.5 goals plus 170 - 1000 to win 1700

OVER 2.5 plus 110 - 700 to win 770

One of my larger single-game bets of the whole tournament...

Thanks Brandon....

Obviously a mistake in the way I played that piece of shit Ukraine.. Oh well. Live and learn.

Going with the Koreans in the late game. They are a gritty, spunky bunch and have made me money in this tournament as well as the last one.

The plays: Korea plus 1/2 -117 - 1170 to win 1000
Korea DRAW plus 195 - 300 to win 585
Korea plus 304 - 300 to win 912

Nothing in the other one, GL...
